While the mental representation was really accurate and well put together， I couldn’t get past the romantic relationship between our main character and her best friend。 I just didn’t care about it at all and I wanted to se more of Dory story and how Leigh expired it。 I really appreciate that she talk with her father but still something was missing for me。 It was a good book with really important topic and I appreciate this。

Oh。 My。 God。 This book is so beautiful and heart-breaking。 I usually do not cry reading books but this one had me crying at 3 am。 I love the complicated characters and the vivid imagery that tell the story of grief。 Everyone go read this book。

I think I'm going to be processing this book for a long time， and coming back to it for a long time。 Pan does a wonderful job exploring the complexities of forgiveness， communication， grief， and identity。 They seamlessly weave in Taiwanese culture and traditions in meaningful ways， and not just so the reader understands that the narrator is half-Taiwanese。 The story isn't anything unusual or groundbreaking， I found it pretty predictable， but Pan's writing is so beautiful and the inclusion of Tai I think I'm going to be processing this book for a long time， and coming back to it for a long time。 Pan does a wonderful job exploring the complexities of forgiveness， communication， grief， and identity。 They seamlessly weave in Taiwanese culture and traditions in meaningful ways， and not just so the reader understands that the narrator is half-Taiwanese。 The story isn't anything unusual or groundbreaking， I found it pretty predictable， but Pan's writing is so beautiful and the inclusion of Taiwanese culture so wonderfully interwoven， that it kept me interested anyway。 。。。more

I read this book quite a while ago but just forgot to say what I wanted to say and didn’t post it lol。 But this book was an emotional roller coaster for me I had all the reels and loved it sometimes the pacing wasn’t for me but overall the story was incredible and it has a special place in my heart。 I recommend people reading this。 There are a few trigger warnings in this book so i recommend you check that before reading :）
